and Operational Instructions

It is extremely important that you read ALL of this document prior to playing a game!!!

Any use of the capitalized word 'Company' in this document must be understood to mean 'Coeus Computing, LLC'.

Tournaments

Custom Tournaments

There can be numerous kinds of custom tournaments set up by individual players. Any player is eligible to design a tournament and set some of the rules such as question display time, the maximum time allowed to answer a question, the fee amount (if any), who is allowed to play in the tournament, which categories can be used, and other parameters.

If tournament players are charged a fee, the tournament designer will receive ten percent (10%) of the fees paid by the players of their tournament. Most of the remainder goes to the players, and ten percent (10%) goes to Company. Because of the popularity of the trivia game and the huge audience of the Internet, it is possible for a tournament to make many thousands of dollars for its designer.

Of course, all tournaments that do not charge a fee to participate, must show ads to players.

The tournament designer must pay a fee, usually three dollars ($3), to create a tournament. There is a limit of ten (10) tournaments per user.

Standard Tournaments

There will always be a group of standard tournaments that include one or more no-ad/cash tournaments for players that do not want to see ads. These require a small fee to enter.

For tournaments that display ads, awards will be given in the form of points for the individual players and for the group/team they are playing for.

Groups and Friends

A Player can assign other players as their friends, with the approval of the 'friended' player(s). Named groups of friends can be formed, such as 'Friends', 'Co-Workers', 'My Sorority', 'Church Group' or whatever. Once formed, groups can be assigned to one or more tournaments. When a tournament is created for a group, each member of the group will receive an email or text message informing them of basic tournament information (start date, start time, tournament name). Group members can accept or reject a tournament invitation. If a member does not respond by the tournament start time, they will be eliminated from the tournament, but not the group.

Entry Fees

If you choose the 'no-ads' option you won't see any ads, however, you must pay a small fee to enter a tourmanemt and will also be eligible to win cash awards (see the schedule below).

If you choose to play 'free games' (with ads), you can play for FREE, FREE, FREE and can increase your scores by answering a question about an ad. You can choose to not answer questions about ads, BUT, you will still be shown ads and cannot receive bonus points. The companies that pay us for your games so you can play for free, want you to at least know who they are.

Game Scores For Free Games

Your scores are determined by the outcomes of 2 possible question-answer sessions, one based on your selected trivia sub-category and one based on the content of an ad you will be shown, if you chose to see ad-based questions.

The following rules determine your scores:

Players are awarded points based on their answers and elapsed times. If your trivia category answer is correct, you will be awarded:
16 points for the lowest elapsed time
12 points for the second lowest elapsed time
6 points for the third lowest elapsed time
4 points for the fourth lowest elapsed time

If your ad-related answer is also correct, your points will be doubled.

If your trivia category answer is incorrect and your ad-related answer is correct, you will be awarded 1 point. If your trivia category answer is incorrect and your ad-related answer is also incorrect, you will not be awarded any points.

Awards for Fee-based games

Awards are given according to the outcomes of a question-answer session based on your selected trivia category.

The following rules determine your awards:

If the trivia question is answered correctly and your elapsed time is the shortest in the game:
You will be awarded the amount shown under the 'WIN' column and will be moved to the next higher level of play.

If two or more players answer the question correctly and have the same elapsed times, all tied players will be entered into another game on the same level.

If the category-trivia answer is incorrect, your elapsed time is over the limit, or the screen was closed prior to answering:
You will not receive any award and will be removed from the tournament.

If the category-trivia answer is correct but your game is lost due to your elapsed time not being the shortest in the game:
You will be given the award shown under 'LOSE'

Regardless of the reason a player loses a game, all losers are removed from the tournament and must reenter the tournament by paying another entry fee.

Award Schedule

Awards for the various levels are given based on whether you leave a level as the winner of your game, quit the game, or lose the game. The amount awarded will be added to your Special-Account.

You may change the fee and game numbers below to view the awards for various combinations.

Note: The column titled 'Players' shows the number of players per game for that level.

Amounts will be added to the player's Special-Account. The schedule is limited to 14 levels, although higher levels are possible. "The more, the merrier!".

If a winner quits the tournament, they may request their Special-Account balance in cash (check or credit/debit card refund). Company will charge a small fee (currently $1.50) to process the request, whether it entails a return transaction on a credit/debit card or a physical printed check. Obviously, any amount smaller than $1.51 would be a wash. For small amounts, it would be better to play them out.

Awards are small for low-level games, but grow to HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for higher levels!

Your Special-Account

Your Special-Account balance will substitute as your entry fee for each level of play beyond level 1. It will be updated after each win, loss, and quit.

Question/Answer Lists

A player may request a list of all the questions and answers for their selected sub-category. Q/A lists cost two dollars ($2.00) per sub-category and cover all the questions that can be asked for the selected sub-category. The selected sub-category will be used for Q/A lists and regular game play. A single sub-category may be used for a maximum of 10 questions in regular games, and cannot be used again until the player has used a minimum of 9 other sub-categories.

If you reach your maximum number of plays for a sub-category and must select another sub-category, or if you choose to select a different sub-category, a Q/A list for the new category will cost $2.00.

Basic Game Play

NOTE: Before playing in a tournament, be sure to take note of the 'Question Display' and 'Answer Display' durations. Some tournaments are much faster paced than others. Also note the fee that may be charged if it is a fee-based tournament.

A tournament is comprised of several levels of game play. The first, second, and last levels have 2 players per game and all other levels have 4 players per game. Each time you win a game, you move up one level and are awarded the amount for the level on which you played.

If you lose a game, you are removed from the tournament and will be awarded the amount shown on the schedule (under 'LOSE') for the level on which the lost game was played.

If you wish to play another game after being removed from a tournament, you must reenter a tournament as a new player, which means that if you are playing games that have a fee, you must pay another entry fee. The fee will be subtracted from your Cash-Account. If your Cash-Account does not have enough balance to cover the Fee, then you must deposit more money into it before you can play again.

Players are selected for a regular game in chronological order. Game groups can be formed with up to 4 individuals per game.

When you enter a game, a question from the sub-category you selected will be sent to you.

For a standard tournament, you will have ample time to review your question. The delay is provided so both slow and fast readers will have time to comprehend the question. After the delay, four possible answers will be displayed and you must select one of them by tapping/clicking it within the alloted time after being displayed. If you do not make a selection within the alloted time, you automatically lose the game and will be removed from the tournament.

Players can receive questions from the same sub-category up to 10 times. Once this limit is reached, the sub-category cannot be selected again until you have played 9 additional sub-categories.

Looking up an answer online or in an ordinary publication such as a dictionary, encyclopedia, magazine, etc., or receiving assistance from a non-cheating individual within the time alloted to answer a question, WILL NOT be considered cheating.

If you are playing a FREE game, after answering the question from your selected sub-category, you will be sent a picture of an ad. After several seconds, the picture will disappear and you will be given a question about the picture. If you answer the question within the alloted time, you will receive up to twice the number of points awarded on your current level.

Guessing

Keep in mind that if you can't remember an answer, a guess is better than the guaranteed loss of running out of time. So... if you are stumped, make your best guess.

Winner Determination

The winner of an individual game will be the player with a correct answer and the shortest elapsed time to select it. There will be situations when two or more players have correct answers and the same winning elapsed time. In such 'tie games', all players submitting the correct answer and a winning elapsed time will be assigned to a new game on the same level. If a player loses the newly assigned game, they will be removed from the tournament.

Since each game has multiple players and each player can play at a different time, the game you are assigned to may not have all its player's answers when you submit your answer. In order to know if you won your game, you may have to wait until all the other players in your game have submitted their answers. If another player has submitted the correct answer in a shorter elapsed time than yours, you will be immediately notified via Text Message that you have lost the game.

Top-level Games

Some top-level games may, at Company's discretion, be played at a location and time specified by Company. Company must arrange for travel to and from the location for the top-level players and one companion each. Company must make provisions for accomodations for players and their companions for at least one night prior to the play of their game(s). Company may arrange for video and audio recordings of the top-level games. By playing in a top-level game, players agree to allow the audio and video recordings of their top-level games. Company retains all rights to the use, sale, duplication, transmission, licensing, and retention of said recordings. No entity other than Company or an entity that has been authorized by Company, may make any recordings of said games for any purpose.

If any player of a top-level game refuses to play in his/her game after Company has provided transportation and/or lodging for them, said player must reimburse Company for all expenses related to providing said transportation and lodging. Said player(s) must forfeit any amount in their Special-Account and their potential winnings as a top-level player to satisfy said reimbursement.

Quitting

Except as explained above for top-level players, a player may quit a tournament and have their Special-Account added to their Cash-Account balance. Company will not question the reason for quitting; it is the player's personal business. Once the balance transfer is made, said player may request that their Cash-Account be paid to them, minus any amount owed to Company. Levels 4 and above will have a cash amount a player can receive if they quit. The 'Quitter's Prize' starts with small amounts for low levels but as shown in the schedule of awards, grows to MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS for higher levels. Game-Awards are NOT cumulative. Each Game-Award replaces a player's Special-Account balance.

If you finalize your decision to quit and then wish to play again, you must enter a tournament as a new player and pay the entry fee if there is one.

Accuracy of Question & Answer Data

Company endeavors to insure that all questions and related answers are correct when entered into the Trivia database; however, you agree that there is no perfect system and that errors do occur and you agree to hold Company harmless for an incorrect statement, question, or answer. If you become aware of an incorrect or grossly misleading statement, question, or answer, you agree to immediately alert Company concerning the situation via e-mail at support@www.trivzilla.com. All players playing games containing erroneous information will be reset to the level of play they were on when the erroneous game was played, and if their Special-Account was reduced due to the loss of said game, then their Special-Account will be restored to its value prior to the loss. Any prize awarded to the winner of a game that was won by chosing an incorrect answer, must be removed from said winner's Special-Account. Said winner must be reinstated in a tournament on the same level being played when the erroneous game was played, and their Special-Account set to the value it had when the erroneous game was played. All players must be assigned to another game with a different question-answer set. If you were playing in a game that Company has found to have an incorrect answer registered as the correct answer in Company's database, and you were awarded an amount for winning the game, you agree to immediately return said awarded amount to Company.

Summary

All this may look complicated, but so would the legal explanation of the rules for playing Tic-Tac-Toe. The actual play is quite simple... select a tournament, select an available sub-category, read a question, select an answer as fast as you can, win if you select the correct answer in the shortest amount of time, or lose if you don't. Practice between games. Simple.

HAVE A GREAT TIME PLAYING A GREAT GAME!!!
